THE ONE VENDOR YOU NEED AT YOUR SAN DIEGO WEDDING IF YOU’RE A CRAFT BEER LOVER
I am so thrilled today to welcome some of the best San Diego wedding creatives we know as featured guests on our blog! Taylor and Corbin, co-founders of Tap Truck, are two entrepreneurs / artisans with a thirst for creating unforgettable event experiences. The two built from the ground up a mobile + social catering experience, designed with modern, interactive events in mind. Together they masterminded Tap Truck, a beverage catering company that serves craft beer out of classic trucks.
I love getting to share what San Diego’s most inventive small businesses are doing to step up the game for entertaining and hospitality at special events here in town. Let me be the first to tell you friends — Tap Truck is one to follow.
Really! Go follow them now on Facebook (^^^) and on IG at @taptrucksd and @taptruckusa!
And since there’s no better person to tell you everything there is to know about Tap Truck than the creators themselves, I invited Taylor to tell you all about what makes them uniquely San Diegan and why you should connect with them today.
First, a little background…
Taylor and Corbin launched Tap Truck in 2016, and have quickly been taking the country by storm with their fleet of vintage beer trucks that serve draft beverages, poured to order.
Taylor: Corbin and I built our first beer truck in our driveway. We are lifelong friends who have been working together since elementary school. Corbin started his own bbq catering company called Corbin’s Q back in 2013. I had been helping him with his events and we came up with the idea [Tap Truck] after seeing multiple beverage catering companies who would come and work events with us. We noticed that the majority would just crack beers over a bar and hand them to guests. We decided that we wanted to bring an elevated experience that was different from what we had seen. Corbin grew up working on cars and I had built multiple draft systems. Together, we decided to restore a vintage panel truck to pour draft beverages! We bought our first panel truck off of Craigslist in Long Beach. “Bae” made the drive back down to San Diego, and the rest is history.
I can already hear some of you saying, “But Emilee, what if I don’t like beer?”
Well, do you enjoy a glass of Merlot? What about a Gin + Tonic? Or is a Nitro Cold Brew more your speed? Good news…
Taylor: Tap Truck offers any craft cocktail, wine, beer, or non-alcoholic drink on draft. We have hand-built pop up wood bars to go in front of our personally restored beer trucks. What we love most about our work is that everything about Tap Truck has been built from the ground up and has been organic. So much time and effort has gone into making our beverage catering company dream become a reality; it’s very rewarding and humbling to see the reactions of our drinking patrons. It makes us happy to run events and create an atmosphere where everyone is having a great time. We honestly can’t beat it!
Bringing in a really unique experience that is guaranteed to make the party a PARTY… check! And will impress all of your guests… check! And will help to grow a local small business that really cares about making your celebration one to remember… check! What else makes Tap Truck one-of-a-kind?
Taylor: We love to surprise our clients with relatively rare or hard to get beers for their special day or event. Other than being a vintage beer truck, we try to bring the newest and highest quality craft beers to our events to please and shock the palettes of our clients.
So, if you love craft beer and classic trucks, the guys at Tap Truck will be your newest best mates.
If you’re convinced that Tap Truck is for you, you’ll want to get in touch with them FAST. The company is rapidly growing here in San Diego and beyond (in eight other cities within California and five other states!!), and their calendar is filling up quickly.
Taylor: In our two years of business, Tap Truck has experienced a ton of growth and continues to grow. While filling our catering schedule in San Diego, we have also expanded to eight cities within California and five states! The Tap Truck brand has gone national and we are helping entrepreneurs who want to start their own beer truck come to a reality! Whether it’s working with a new Tap Truck branch or a newly engaged San Diego couple, we love that we get to spend our time working with what we love and what we have started.
And some final thoughts…
What advice do you have for a couple who is in the midst of planning their wedding?
Taylor: Our advice for a couple who is planning out their special day is to trust in the vendors they are working with. Try to give your vendors a sense of direction of what vision you are going for, but ultimately let the professionals stick to what they are good at. That’s why you hire them!
Thank you, Taylor, for sharing your business with us and helping to inspire our creativity in planning weddings that are a celebration of everything our couples love!
