Cozy Lakeside Resort Wedding in Lake Lure, NC

I had the best time planning Lauren and Ryan’s lakeside resort wedding in Lake Lure, NC. This is probably because Lauren has been my best friend since the 6th grade, which meant I got to play double duty as Maid of Honor and Wedding Planner! Lauren started dating Ryan when we were sophomores (high school sweethearts!!), so this wedding was definitely a long time coming.

Our first major task was finding the perfect venue. Lauren and Ryan knew they wanted their wedding to feel like a getaway, but to also feel comfortable. I helped them find a cozy lakeside resort in the mountains — The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa. It felt intimate, but still like a very special destination for guests to enjoy a relaxing weekend getaway.

        From the Bride:

“Everything about our wedding felt like us, 100%. It felt like the best, totally authentic, true-to-us day of our lives. The venue was this sleepy mountain resort town. My husband and I got the best biscuit breakfast sandwich at a little gas station store on the way to get our marriage license.”

I loved these chic and classy dresses that Ryan’s groomswomen chose to complement the rest of the bridal party!

        From the Bride:

“Getting ready with my girls in a cabin that we had to ourselves was so relaxing and special.”

The setting’s character of simple romance and family values were carried through all of the little details. Lauren had a family brooch pinned inside her wedding gown. And, instead of a pillow for the ring bearer, their nephew carried an old lace family bible.

        From the Bride:

“The small ceremony was perfect- my husband and I cried the whole time. I think everyone did. I’ve never felt so surrounded by love. The reception was the same – we were able to spend time with everyone and really get to celebrate!”

Needless to say that I’m a little biased, but I’m fairly sure that Lauren is the most beautiful bride to have ever been married at the inn.

The table centerpieces had photos of Ryan and Lauren each at a different age: one year old at table one, etc.

One thing we know for sure: these two have friends and family who love to dance and have a good time! Lauren’s Mom and Ryan definitely stole the show any time the pair hit the dance floor. Everyone was laughing all night long. You’ve never seen a happier group of people in your life!
